The term used to describe an unsuccessful attempt of any particular movement. Often times a bail can result in a nasty fall and sometimes injury. Bails are usually caused by failure to check the environment for safety or from a lack of focus, confidence, or commitment.

Its use within the Parkour lexicon is one of many words that derives from the skateboarding, inline-skating, snowboarding or surfing communities:

"He had plenty of speed coming into that nose-grind, but he lost focus and bailed face-first onto the concrete. The video should be sweet."
