Two things:

1) I ran out of money.  And I'm getting laid off in a few months.

2) My mom surprised me that she's coming down next weekend.

After driving all the way from Chicago to see me, I doubt she'll be up for driving for three hours for a BBQ...

Sorry, Eli.  I was really looking forward to seeing you guys again.  We'll have to wait until later in the summer or something.  Hope I can see you on your way out of town.  Or until I get a real motorcycle and can drive down and visit.  Not gonna make it on my moped (as funny and "Dumb and Dumber" as that would be...).

Aw, no fun!  Still, though, I understand where you're coming from.  Get some cash and have fun with you mom, Laurie!

One last reminder!  There was a helluva storm this morning, but tomorrow looks like it's going to be dry and wonderful.  The barbecue is still on, and we're meeting at 11:30 at the parking garage near Founder's Park.  We'll wait there for 15 minutes or so to get everyone together, then carpool out to Ritter Springs for grilling and exploring.

Be excited!  I am!

There was meat. There was running. There was falling off the log and into water...for some of us. All in all it was a blast.

There were also frisbees, sunburns, and ticks, all of which are helpful in making a person feel more alive.

That sounds splendid, but let's do it in a place that offers more parkour opportunities, eh?  I'm thinking to should maybe try Nathaniel Greene Park again, only this time let's conveniently forget to call for a reservation.  I have a feeling it won't matter THAT much... ::)
