yeh dudes sorry this has to chill.

but to continue, yes, water is more, it's a specific interaction unique to itself, just hydrogen and oxygen together do not create water.

my argument simply stated is that new movements resulting from combinations of old ones are still in fact new movements. regardless of agreement on what I am saying there is surely merit to pushing the boundaries of ones movement vocabulary which is the only part of my argument relating to the original post.

if i did not properly explain my word analogy then i apologize. i am saying that there are stories, epics, poems, scientific discoveries and countless other things that have not yet been put to words. they are new ideas, new concepts, new combinations of all of the old words we walk around with day to day. this to me is an undeniable truth, it is something that i accept as true with all of my heart, it is the foundation of not just my argument but also a strong reason to continue to strive to learn in all things. this of course despite my acceptance is still an opinion. If you are not under the same opinion you are entitled to yours, you are welcome to explain it but you must understand that I am accepting what I wrote above as fundementally true and if your argument relies only on that it is fundementally or potentially not true i will have a difficult time seeing your side of things.

I fail to see how reductionism cannot be applied here... nothing is more than the sum of its parts.

Yes, a fulltwist is a backflip and a 360, yes water is merely Hydrogen and Oxygen, and yes speech is a variation of sound. I fail to see your logic in refuting these things... I see your conclusion, which I do agree with, to an extent; yes, they are new movements, and I see your reasons... but I don't see how they connect.

As for your flawed analogy on words to scientific discoveries... it isn't the combination of words used to describe the discovery (or poem, whathaveyou), it's the actual idea that is new.

I'm going to have to side with Eisenberg on this one.

just hydrogen and oxygen don't create water ??? ??? ???

that's quite a theory you got there ::)

but maybe you could enlighten me as to what one molecule of water has, aside from: two hydrogen atoms covalently bonded to a single oxygen atom ;)

but JUDGING FROM YOUR LOGIC::
it isn't JUST hydrogen and oxygen= because thats an oversimplification of a complex cocept ???  [WTF]???  [WTF]???

i didn't think i was psycic lol

It was never my intention to get the discussion onto the path of arguing what is or isn't a "new" move.  I just wanted to encourage Blackhand to not worry about creating moves that have never been done by anyone.  But rather to focus on his own individuality and doing things that are new to him.  For me, it was a question of motivation, not definition.  If you really want to create something that's never been done before, you'd never have any real way of knowing if you're truly the first or not.  So why worry about it?  Do it for yourself, not for recognition.

A. It's "Precision", not "percision"

B. Don't worry about having to make up new movements. Those will occur in the middle of your flow when you least expect it.

true that....  it happens randomly when your not really thinking hard
