American Parkour is proud to announce our next contest: The “Practical Parkour” Contest. This contest has two parts, each of which will run for approximately two weeks. All you have to do is make a 20 second video that demonstrates a practical application of parkour. During the second half of the contest, you get to see it up on the APK Youtube Channel and you have to try to get as many views as possible for your video!
The first part of the contest is the video creation phase. Each contestant will create a video, 20 seconds or less, demonstrating a practical application of Parkour. This should be a real world, “this is how you can use your parkour skills to solve a problem in an everyday situation” kind of scenario. This means we don't want videos of you walking through a field, vaulting over a picnic table in the middle of a field, and then continuing for your walk. Get creative! Watch these two examples to get an idea of what we're looking for:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIDOnyAOs18Your video should not have any music added, just use the natural sounds of your environment. You can have dialogue, a story, or just your scenario. When rendering your video, please insert this video clip (
http://americanparkour.com/videos/PracticalParkour.zip) (it does NOT count towards your 20 second limit), so viewers can easily identify which videos are part of the contest.
Once your video is complete, please send an email to
youtube@americanparkour.com. Put “Practical Parkour Contest” in the subject line. If the rendered video is less than 20 megabytes, attach it to the email. Otherwise, please use Drop.io or a similar service to upload the file and send it to us so we can download it (please make sure we have your email address, and can connect that with your entry, so we can email you back).
Please submit all your videos by 11:59pm, Friday, April 3rd. On Saturday, April 4th, we will upload ALL of the videos to the AmericanParkour Youtube Channel at the same time. Once they are uploaded, we will email everyone who submitted an entry with a link to their video. This will begin the second stage of the contest...
The winner of this contest is the video with the most views by 11:59pm, Friday, April 17th. This means that for the next two weeks, you will have to promote your video anyway you can, and get as many views as possible. All we ask is that you be polite and respect the rules of other websites. If we suspect someone is spamming or engaging in unsavory practices, we will ask for a list of the places you linked your video. If it looks like you're trying to cheat, your video will be pulled.
You may submit as many entries as you want, but remember that each video will be counted separately.
