Bananas

So, a friend of mine today was telling me that I should eat the skin of the banana, and that's where all the nutritional benefit comes from.
He went on to explain that monkeys peel bananas and discard the fruit and eat only the peel.

Anyway, what's the deal with bananas? Should I start eating the skin?

The joke's on you; your friend got you. Yes, you can eat the peelings of the banana, you can eat anything. I don't know the nutritional value of the peel itself but I doubt it's more beneficial than the fruit. You would see more people eating the banana peel if it was better for them than the fruit.

bananas are probably the best fruit to eat...i got this email from my mom (shes a health nut) it was like "100 reasons to eat bananas" and none of them were "because they taste good" or "because theyre cheap" it was all scientific/health related reasons to eat them

i cant really remember anything specifically, but if i eat breakfast, its usually just a banana now because i know how good they are for me

Bananas are an awesome fruit but its easy to overconsume them.  The little buggers are packed with calories.  I love em though :)

true, im thinking that email was saying one a day should keep you very healthy though, not saying eat em everytime youre hungry

i agree in my past life i was a monkey (yes I am serious  :-Sarcasm) well i would like to think so, but anyways I could eat a whole thing of bananas in one go =P
