Sleep pattern all screwed up.
« on: March 16, 2009, 08:50:18 AM »
This is affecting me a whole lot.

I conditioned a lot, and practiced a lot day before yesterday with a friend, and I slept like 18 hours straight, and yesterday I got one hour of sleep.

I've had this happen before, I wont get more than 30 minutes of a sleep a night for at least a month before it get's back on track by itself magically somehow, how can I speed this up?

I have tried just going like 3 days with no sleep, and getting a good full nights sleep after that, and all it did was make me go like 5 days with no sleep, pass out for like 20 hours, and back where I started.
Ten pushups, twenty crunches, twenty squats.
^My version of the ten pushups club.

Perhaps you should consult with a doctor. Also, you could try not training for a day or so and see if that works.

Is what I'm doing awesome? If I ask myself that and the answer is no, then I don't do it

From personal experience (I used to have a hard time getting to sleep) finding and cementing a "personal routine" before going to bed is very important. It will help you add a sense of continuity to your days and will help your body know when it is time to go to sleep. It could be stretching, reading, or just trying to calm down, but it is important to try and relax before trying to go to sleep. I have never slept that long (18 hours) at a stretch so hopefully, it is just throwing off your sleep schedule for a while and not a more deeply rooted problem. Good luck with trying to get back on track.

thats the advanced version of what im dealing with.

if i stay up till 2 one night i pass out and wake up at 11-12 generally (sleeping through alarms). then i cant fall asleep the next night till like 3 or 4am.

so on and so forth until im up all night, i just deal with it. sleeping is just hard for some people, consult a doctor is my advice.

my mind is constantly moving, one day my body will be strong enough to keep up.
