You could make a KILLING off these bad boys. And they seem so... Functionable! I don't care what company you pitch it to, or if you sell them yourself, but please, PLEASE manufacture them.

Thanks so much, guys!

Regarding the sole, The material of the entire upper is TPR. I am limited due to trying to keep this concept recyclable. The downsides are that TPR does wear down faster than rubber. The upside is that it is fairly cheap and completely recyclable. Your sole is going to wear down regardless of what you buy. The advantage here is that you simply order a new shell for 20-30 bucks and you're good to go! There is no waste and your old shell is recycled. Unfortunately, there will always be some downside no matter what route you take.

I'll have this concept finished soon. Thanks for the feedback!

So am I correct in assuming that he inner shell is meant to last?

i like that idea a lot. that way instead of paying $100 for new shoes everytime they wear out just pay 20-30 bucks for a new sole! thas a great idea. and i like that it's all recyclable :) i can't wait for these shoes to come out!!!!!!!!!

Still need to add some raised lines to the forefoot for grip/durability.

Ha, with the Recycle symbol made out of Nike swooshes. Ingenious!

All in all, beautiful shoe. I'm impressed with how it turned out after all this time.

I always wanted split-toe shoes, even before I even started PK... The one on page five is my favorite design, by far, but they all looks so good.

I cant believe i havent stumbled upon this thread before! :) its awesome how these shoes have evolved, the design on this page looks amazing, and if theres so much thought going into it, i'd definately buy a pair. Just one question though, maybe it was said earlier, but i must not have seen it if it was. How are the sides of the soles, are they rounded like the front and back? I cant really tell from the view you drew them. Hopefully this will work out!

I still like the idea of not having laces.  Although the shoes I always work with have laces, shoes designed specifically for the purpose should eliminate as many potential problems as possible.  Perhaps either having a Velcro flap to cover the laces and prevent snagging, or having a non-laces version?

I have never worn a split-toe shoe before, but it seems that because you are wearing a sock underneath the shoe, it would help stop it from hurting your feet. its like wearing gloves while doing work to prevent blisters on your hands.

I wonder how hard it is to put on a split-toe shoe without wearing split-toe socks...

Ask the people who wear Vibram FiveFingers ;D

You wouldn't wear regular socks in these. You'd wear split toe or individual toe socks. I'm sure you could wear regular socks in an emergency.
