Haha... and not a mention of parkour.

"and their scenes are overcranked--150 frames a second instead of the usual 24--with the pace then slowed down in postproduction to achieve an extraordinarily graceful effect"

What does this mean?

it means they don't know what the hell they're talking about

they could've just said 150 frames of parkour! that would've been awesome!

It means when they filmed it they captured every millasecond. So when they go back to slow it down it looks hella good.

It's like the difference between a slowed down shot on your video camera and one from say, the Matrix, or DB13! if you want

the more frames you take per second in the initial filming, the smoother the playback will be when you decrease the amount of frames per second, in other words, play it in slow motion.

I don't know if I made it less complicated or more.  I tried  :)

Film at 150 fps, then show those frames at 25 fps. You now have one second of action slowed down to 6 seconds of slow-motion, high-frame rate ownage.
My promise for the month: three sets of handstand pushups (upto 5 reps now...)

I keep having these dreams that I'm falling.
The strange thing is, when I wake up,
They keep coming true.

hehe, i take a TV production class at my high school, and we were filming stuff like this half way through the school year. very fun to shoot, not to mention edit    its just like Quazar said, the more frames per second, the better the slow motion will be
