Anna's Training Log
« on: February 14, 2009, 07:33:42 PM »
First off, today, Saturday, the 14th of February 2009, Valentine's Day, I've started a blog and will be posting the same log on this as I am on the blog. The blog, however, will have more personal insights and what-not.
You can go to the blog here: http://thewayofparkour.blogspot.com/.
I've decided it's time for change. I've been making excuses for far too long, and I need accountability.
I have two main goals at the moment, but they really correspond to each other:

  • I am going to lose 50 lbs. of body fat.
  • And I am going to lose 2 lbs by this time next week.

I will post what I have eaten each day between now and then, and I will post what kind of exercise/conditioning I have done each day between now and then on Saturday, February 21, 2009.

Hello Anna, and welcome! It sounds like we're in similar situations with similar goals. Keeping a log here has certainly helped me stay motivated and pointed in the right direction. The guys and gals here have lots of helpful insight and advice. Good luck!

Indeed we do have similar goals. Perhaps we should support each other.

Let's see... yesterday I had a not so god day....

2 steak taquitos from Taco Bell
2 of the nacho cheese dips from taco Bell
1 medium baja blast

4oz sirloin with 1 tbs of grated cheese on top
1 cup of red bell pepper and green onions (mixed and fresh, sauteed in a pan with a tsp of EV olive oil and tbs of garlic)
1 cup of milk that I finished off after dinner with three oreos

And only about 32 oz of water

As for exercise yesterday was Sunday, so I did a lot of singing (I don't know how much singing I did... I don't normally think about it)--not that I don't sing every day. I played with my dog... and when I say play I mean that I'm doing quadrupedal movement and chasing my dog around the interior of my home--albeit at the moment rather slowly, but my dog still has fun...mostly because my parents don't play with the poor guy. I did running precision jumps onto my parents' bed--it's the tallest in the house--I marked a spot three feet away from the bed, ran until I hit that spot then jumped onto the bed. I did that until I stuck ten in a row so that was 60 jumps.

As for today, I'll post a complete log tonight.

OK.   I understand yesterday was a bad day - not comin down on you at all.  I think that you may benefit from reading our article: Eating Right: How to Get Started.

Eating right will be the major hurdle to get your weight down.  Many people that i have coached through this have seen significant drops in weight just by eating better and taking fish oil.

With that said, you will also likely want to set some goals.  Goals will help you keep your eye on the ball.  When you focus on goals and not weight loss, the weight loss actually comes a lot faster.  Ask Amy R, for example!  Here is a good blurb on how to set goals and another short list of goals you may want to achieve to help with your parkour:

It might seem like a hassle at first, but really it's amazing the effect food quality has over body composition. Chris' article is a wonderful way to get started and remember we are always here to help!

Yesterday, I ate:
2 eggs
the leftover veggies from the night before (about a cup)
1 serving of oatmeal with a tsp of cinnamon
2 sausage links
a serving of whole grain pasta
2 cups of sugar snap peas
and a slice of pound cake

4 glasses of water
2 glasses of skim milk
