. as for your achilles tendon, its possible (hard to say unless im there to diagnose you) that the injury you sustained injured the tib ant muscle primarly. what happens to the antagonistic muscles (the soleus and gastroc) which attach through the achilles tendon, is that with a weak tib anterior, it goes tight. make sense? so if it is tight, it bunches up, and when you leap or impact, its already contracted, so you strain it

. so i would generally (again, trying, but tough to give advice over the i-net) rub the tib anterior muscle mainly, and stretch out the achilles muscles (also, get someone to rub with a broad contact from the heel upwards the body on the triceps surae (soleus/gastroc) muscles) that will definately help the hypertonicity. anyway, good luck.
