Beginner's Jam - Sunday, June 4th
« on: May 12, 2006, 07:50:04 PM »
Who: Everyone is welcome
What: Beginners Jam
Where: Colorado School of Mines campus in Golden. The meeting spot will be in the giant grassy park in the center of campus. There are 3 big stone column/spire things on the east side of this area, we will meet there.
When: Noon, Sunday, June 4th
Why: To help beginners grasp the basics for a great summer of training. To help everyone refine their basics and focus on every little detail of good technique.

I have been working on an agenda for this jam along with the guys who are running the upcoming DC workshop. This jam will focus on basics and all the little details of the basics that we sometimes may neglect. I would encourage everyone from newbies to the more advanced to attend because frankly, you can never stop working on basics. With this in mind, it will focus on the basics only, and if you feel that you don't want to follow the agenda, please don't bother showing up. This will be structured and organized and is not meant for people who just want to mess around and do whatever.

Everyone who plans on attending, please reply here and also note if you will be coming with any other people. I would like to get a good headcount of how many people will show so I can decide whether or not to split up in groups and stuff like that. Thanks.

Gonna be there. Might be just me, or one or two people. It'll be great to drill the down-to-earth bsics though.

EDIT: Well screw. Ain't gonna be happening for me after all. June 4th just became an extremely busy day for me. I'll do my best to be at the next one though.

Sounds like just what I been waiting for, I will try to be there.
I've been perusing the APK forum for a little while now and decided to register. I been doing this stuff for as long as I can remember, just a natural I guess. And now that I'm probobly too old to be doing it, they actually have a name for it, hahaha. Well I live near downtown Denver and am wondering if there is anyone that hangs over at Cat fountain on a regular basis? I've stopped by there a few times but never see anyone practicing so being a newbie I just go on my merry way. If there is anyone that would like to show an old guy the ropes let me know.

I'll be there.  I'll be coming from Boulder.  If anybody wants a ride or wants to carpool, PM me and we'll figure something out.  I have space for about 4 or 5, depending on how comfy we get.

Thanks so much for setting this up!

I'll be there. I'll bring my little bro, too. Some of his friends may tag along as well. It should be lots of fun.

Oh, and by some, I think there will be two others. So probably four of us.

Change of plans guys, the jam will now be held at the Colorado School of Mines Campus. No big deal though, its the same general area of Golden/Morrison. I have made the switch for a couple reasons:

1. red rocks is all concrete, not the friendliest place for new people trying new things. mines offers some grass.
2. even though there is not a show at red rocks on the 4th, there is one on the 3rd which means there could still be a lot of equipment in the way.

The meeting spot will be in the giant grassy park in the center of campus. There are 3 big stone column/spire things on the east side of this area, we will meet there.

I would love to go...but transportation is limited. But if I can get two others, then it shouldn't be a problem. I'll give a finite answer as soon as I can. This is really awesome, thanks Demon!  :)

Dang!

Bad news: I just realized I misscheduled a previous commitment that I've tried and failed to get out of.  I won't be able to make it at the 12pm starting time.

I could make it there around 2pm, do you think things will still be going strong?  If not I'll catch the next one or try to hook up with you during the week sometime.

Dano!
