...Yeah, I wasn't going to keep the debate alive, but that is essentially my view on it.
A: you don't need to pull your legs through. That is a common misconception.
B: if you're running for your life you probably won't think to go over the trash but around it
C: if you're training with a trash can be careful, because it is STILL unstable.

Trash cans are probably okay if they have stuff in them as ballast. Plus they're usually not too high, so you probably only need to tap them lightly to get over.
