« on: November 26, 2008, 11:49:10 PM »
my name is RJ and i am EXTREMELY new to Parkour and want some help learning some of the basic techniques. i would like to know if someone would be willing to meet me in the old town Alexandria/ southern DC area to show me the ropes. im pretty agile for a big guy and know the absolute basics (rolls and some vaults) but i want some input from someone with a lot more experience than me.

Hey RJ! Welcome to the APK forums!  Your best bet is to check out the Mid-Atlantic forums: http://www.americanparkour.com/smf/index.php?board=124.0  Come to one of the Jams, meet a few people and check out the local scene.  We have a whole range of traceurs and some good teachers who can help you out.  If you're interested in more formal teaching/training, Primal Fitness in DC (http://www.primal-fitness.com) offers Parkour classes.  Usually the Saturday morning class from 10-12 is the best time to check it out.
