If Virginia didnt feel the need to take back the land they gave to us in D.C. a long time ago all of you bastards would live in D.C. So worship your master.

It appears that VA-parkour.com has fallen.  Now we wait for the MD scavengers to take over.  This isnt the first time ive seen this, first they will conquer the tidewater region, then they will go for the flank through the Appalachin mountains...we may lose Old Rag :'(

Anyways this is Kent, i changed the name to Verbal because I just saw The Usual Suspects again (main character was Verbal Kent), and I appreciate the irony that I won't be talking and reading the parkour forums very much anymore, took a couple years to realize what a waste of time it is! :P

ill just STFU & RUN as they say.. :-X ;D

Va-parkour.com didn't fall. They are just remodelling the front page. You can still find the forums at http://www.va-parkour.com/phpBB2

Yeah, the main-page is a product of a few different factors:
1.) It needed to be updated
2.) Technology hates me and thus:
3.) The internet refuses to work as it should when I am involved.

I hope to have some semblance of a page up within the week ;)

whats up guys, i live down in richmond, go to vcu currently but live in woodbridge.

ive pretty much wanted to start / try parkour for a while, but really dont have anyone to go with, and im also 100% freshly new at this. so ive been putting it off, but i joined up the forums today, hopefully i can meet some people in the area. im not here to want to roof gap three stories or anything, ive always liked the idea of parkour and being able to free-flow however you want.

ill be reading a bunch of articles to try and get down the basics, i did distance running for a short time in highschool, but my sprinting is crap. i play rugby trying to stay active physically but it isnt as demanding as i thought it would be. anywho, just dropping a line, i checked out va-parkour.com (btw: do you post on there with movable type?) too. later' -mike

Welcome from a fellow newb :)

I met up with a fellow traceaur soon after I found va-parkour and I went to another big DC jam soon after that.  However, most of my practice has been on my own . . . though it is def. more fun training with others.  Check out Gymnasty's website.  They have some nice training vids to get a newb started.  Then I'd watch all the vids I can get my hands on to get an idea as to what is possible.  Once u have a good idea as to what you need to do as far as technique goes, find someplace adequate to train at and work on the basics.

Right on, richmond has a few people training, just post up on VA-parkour and youre sure to find them! in the summer when youre back in woodbridge it should be a blast, theres a lot going on up in northern va! Much respect for getting into parkour with respect to safety and basics!
