VA Statewide jam ROUND 2?!?!
« on: October 21, 2008, 01:01:50 PM »
Well we all talked about it at UVA and there was talk about VT.

So let's keep on talking!

Well the venue pretty much has been unanimously decided already (that being Virginia Tech) so when would everyone want to have this jam? Post your ideas/concerns here!

I should be good most weekends, and am more than willing to make the drive.

I think we should definitely shoot for a weekend before Winter Break

(obviously  :P)

So anyone have any specific weekend suggestions?

As in Nov. 4th?

Tuesday is probably no good for much of us, and I need that day to vote.

Leon and I were talking and we're thinking the weekend AFTER Thanksgiving break.

So the weekend of November 29th.

Also, we were throwing the idea around of having it two days, Saturday and Sunday.

Thoughts? Questions? Post up guys.

I love the idea of another statewide jam!!
However, this time around, PLEASE give more than one week's notice, haha.  It was sooo difficult to clear up my schedule for the last one.
So far the weekend of November 29th sounds good to me because it gives me plenty of time to prepare.
But I agree that this should definitely be a 2 day Virginia Tech jam!

I think that VT would be awesome, but there are two other spots i would like to throw into consideration.  I have heard that ODU has a very good campus, but I haven't been down to scope it out yet.  I have been to William and Mary and I must say it is ideal... Anywhere is good though.  Also, a key point that Marshall made, please post a set date a couple weeks in advance, it'll help me get things straightened out up here.

Agreed with W&M.  Their campus is amazing, but I'm sure Zuzma, Ben, and Adam would be pleasantly surprised to know that they're hosting a jam all of a sudden, haha.
As for ODU?  I have a friend who was mildly interested in Parkour for a little while that goes there.  I'll see if I can get him to go out for a photo op of some of the areas around there so we can take a look.
However for now, we KNOW that VT will host a jam, so I'd say that's our current best bet.  Plus I know I've always been drooling over being able to go see their home turf.  =)  This could be my chance!!! haha

Uh... we had the date for last statewide decided about 2 months in advance... you guys probably missed the thread in the Jams section of the VA forums  :P

We had the MONTH confirmed.  The exact date wasn't confirmed until about three weeks prior.

We had the MONTH confirmed.  The exact date wasn't confirmed until about three weeks prior.

And thus should their month have been clear!!!

Regardless. I'd say that since we kind of slightly agreed that VT would host the next time and since everyone seems to want "time" to "clear schedules" then VT should be the location seeing as the tech boys are okay to host. And since they are at this early stage of planning, we should respect their awesomenimity and agree to let them host our delicious selves!

The real question, however, is the date at which so many titans of amazing shall get together to wage war on gravity.

So anyone have a problem with the 29th of November? And if no, then anyone have a problem with the 29th AND 30th?

The 29th AND 30th would be awesome!!  =D
Would this include a little gym jam as well?
I would so enjoy a little gym time so I could get some feedback and pointers on form and all.  And I would love to get some new FR ideas as well.

Our gym is only open Monday to Friday... let me talk to someone about having it open that weekend!!!

Those dates sound good to me so far! I only see one conflict and that would be the UVA vs VT football game that weekend... but that'll just make things more interesting eh  :P

Uh dude, I'm home that weekend! Or at least I should be. My break starts the the 25th and goes til the 1st of December, so barring any kind of family commitment I CAN BE THERE IF THAT'S THE DATE!

Where in Loudoun do you live?  I live in South Riding so I would most likely be able to give you a ride.
