sorry, i know that it has been a while but i finally got around to digging up some articles about milk and lactic acid, like i promised, despite the discouragement from steve  :P . i just googled "milk lactic acid" and although i dont know about the credibility, there are a few. they basicly say that plain milk does not contain lactic acid, as i had believed, and only has lactate. however soured milk does contain lactic acid, this would include dairy products such as yogurt and cheese.
