The WOD for Sep. 17
« on: September 18, 2008, 03:15:52 PM »
I was on the APK forums, just browsing in general like I normally do, when I remembered that I had strength training second hour. (It was first hour at the time, and I had free time on the computer) So I thought that since I would have 75 min. to work out, it turned out to about only 55 min, that I would have plenty of time to do the APK WOD, so I look it up glance through it, but before I can wright it down, my teacher tells us that we have to log off to watch some Powerpoint presentations.

So Iam sitting there and I have to wright down form memorie the APK workout of the day... Unfortunatley, I remembered it wrong and I cut the # of jumping squats in half, completely left out the APK warmup, and put down that it was to be done for 7 cycles.

Obviously, this is a large difference, from what was prescribed so I don't know if I got the full effect. Even though I didn't do the APK official warmup, I did have to run the mile, and even though we weren't timed, I was the first to finish, (Parkoured down to the track  :P, which gave me about a ten second head start, I waited for them for a little while) and I am VERY confident that I got less than 8 minutes on the mile. (That's pretty good for me, and I thank Charles Moreland, and his awesome tutorial) But I didn't do HSPU's or Jumping Squats for several cycles because I didn't think the teacher would like me upide down or jumping around, and the machines weren't quite sturdy enough that I felt safe doing Clap Pullups.

Enough rambling though, what I did overall for my workout was:

Ran 1 mile
20 45# weighted pushups
5 HSPU's (I asked him nicely and he said that as long as I did them on a mat he would allow it)
25 Clap Pushups
30 Pistols (At the end of the hour I was caught between cycles and wanted do as much as I could, so I cranked out 5 more Pistols and L-Pullups 8))
10 100# weighted squats all the way down (Crazy Difficult)
15 Jumping Squats (I asked him nicely yet again, and he said as long as I was careful...)
30 L-Pullups
25 Kipping Pullups
1 Min. Front plank

On the Planks I was planning on doing it for 2:00 min. then switching to side planks for the same, but I could barely make it to 1:00, even though I can normally hold a 45# weighted Plank for 2 minutes easy. That's how exhausted I was, and that's how sore I am today.

There are times when you want to break down and rage at the heavens. Don't. Stay calm, and let the emotions flood in, accept them and then rise above them. Never dwell. Don't fear or worry. Anything worth thinking about is worth talking about. And... Good luck.
