A full days training, healthy?
« on: August 14, 2008, 01:25:29 PM »
I am off work friday and was considering leaving early in the morning to train throughout the day till that afternoon or night, but is that healthy?
I mean is it ok to work out with various things throughout the day, all day long? Or would shorter workouts a little a day be better?
I actually don't have to much time on the days I have to work, so I was considering working alot harder at it the days I had off.

Never jump into long training days especially if you've been previously sedentary. Start small and scale small until you know your body is ready to endure long training days. Take many breaks and if you ever feel any pain during training stop and allow yourself to heal (this usually requires one days rest) before continuing. You have plenty of time ahead of you to achieve your goals so take your time and play it smart.

are you going to be doing high intensity workouts or are you going to be screwing around and konging on stuff all day?

Ahh...I remember my first encounter with a full  10 hour training. I was so sore and tired I couldn't train for 2 days. I would work slow if I was you, don't rush into that. I'm just barely able to do a full training day more than 2 or 3 times a week.
This post was based off of my personal gatherings. Enjoy:)

I'm going to assume the latter.. if it was the former, I'm sure he'd fall asleep by hour three.  By that, I mean he'd either get so tired he willingly goes to bed... or he'd just pass out.

The only time I've done a full day training and been all right was at the PK Gen Expo in Columbus.  I don't know what crazy old world magics those guys worked on us, but two full days of training had me feeling fine with almost no soreness.  Unexpected!
