I have a double toe on my right foot and it seems to impact my balance a bit (I think I walk a bit weird) I'm hoping that it won't impact training to much, I haven't even really started training yet but it's still something that's worrying me! And I have pretty bad depth perception ( i wear glasses) I'm hoping that starting parkour will help me but ugh!!! I really want to do this!

Double toe?

It might impair your balance, but check out the one-armed traceur in England. If he can overcome his disabilities and disadvantages, I think everyone can! You might have to change some things, do certain things differently, or even avoid some things completely, but if Parkour is about efficiency, sometimes certain ways are more efficient for some people than others.

Tell me more about your "double toe" and maybe we can come up with some ways to overcome it.

It's the pinkie toe on my right foot, it actually has two different bones (hence "double toe") the thing is it's pretty flat (compared to my other toe) and y'know how with your pinkie toe you can kinda "feel" where your foot ends and where the ground begins when your walking? (kinda hard to explain) but because my double toe is pretty flat it's hard for my foot to tell where the side if it ends and the ground begins, (if that makes ANY sense) so I look pretty stupid sometimes walking because sometimes I go off balance due to my toe it's pretty annoying lol not to mention embarrasing!

If you can run with it, my guess is that you can train parkour with it. I have an overgrown stub(down to the proximal phalange :P) where my left foot's middle toe is supposed to be, and it doesn't stop me from running. Parkour, in it's simplest form, is still running.

if put your mind to it, you can overcome ANY obstacle.  Even if it happens to be your own body.  Think like a traceur!!! ;D

Hey, Daniel,
There's a term we use called, "Necro-ing" which is essentially to bring up a topic that hasn't been discussed in the last...ohh....let's say, 3 years.  Check the date of the last post...which in this case, was Nov. 25th of 2008.  Unless you've got something that's just SUPER INFORMATIVE that hasn't been covered in the post, don't bother resurrecting old threads.

Thanks,
Joe
