Shoulders
« on: March 20, 2006, 05:04:35 PM »
Anyone have any idea how i can work out my shoulders in isolation?  They're EXTREMELY weak.  My triceps are extremely strong and just kinda take up most of the room where my shoulder muscles should be taking up.

shoulders + parkour = handstand training

handstand pushups, press ups, walking on hands, simply holding a handstand position, etc. your balance won't be there at first so learn how to roll out of them and do some of the exercises against a wall for stability. the handstand push ups are key because they will build the strength needed for everything else.

I find the handstand push-ups seem to work more triceps than anything else, although biceps and shoulders, abs and legs, even, are worked by extension.  Simply put, though, my shoulders are severely weaker than my triceps and I need to work them in isolation.  It's unfortuante that nearly every arm motion requires triceps, but other than those weight-machines where you ARE just working shoulders, what else can I do?

No, handstand push ups are primarily a shoulder exercise. If your triceps are doing most of the work, you are doing them wrong.

All right.  I'll see what the problem is.  I think maybe my shoulders might jsut be too weak for the ahndstand push-ups so my triceps try to compensate.
