But just to show that nobody's perfect, I heard that the Yamakasi had a lot of overuse injuries from the way they trained, though.

I hear a lot of people say that anyone who trained with the Yamakasi never performed any drops big or small until after one full year of training.

I've heard that as well. Never verified it, though.. just hearsay.

why is everyone complaining about one person who wants to do a big jump. he obviously was going to do it anyways. he is not going to have a sudden random epiphany just because some guys over the internet told him not to do it. if he wants to do the jump he will at least you could try to give some advice not just spam him with "DON'T JUMP" like he is some psychotic suicidal maniac. if he thinks he can do it then that is his problem. just let it go
You have already made the decision, you will just spend the rest of your life figuring out why.

If he wouldn't listen to us why would we listen to you?  By your own logic your post was a waste of time.
If I can't speed vault it I can monkey vault it.
If I can't monkey vault it I can kong it.
If I can't kong it I can kash it.
If I can't kash it I can climb it.
If I can't climb it there's another way around it.

For every year of training you have, drop from same height.

Train for three year = 3 foot drop with no damage

Train for 20 year = 20 foot drop ALL the time.

75 year training = 75 foot drop

There are times when you want to break down and rage at the heavens. Don't. Stay calm, and let the emotions flood in, accept them and then rise above them. Never dwell. Don't fear or worry. Anything worth thinking about is worth talking about. And... Good luck.

CRAP! I lost...

anyways,  we read what you wrote... it is just that you came off as saying that we shouldn't try to stop people from doing stupid things... which is even more stupid then the idiot doing the stupid thing...

Point being, no matter what... DON'T JUMP FROM DEATHLY HEIGHTS ( Oh I'm sorry... I put an apostrophe in Don't not a quotation mark... *DON"T )

but yea... we should try our best, it is our duty to try our best, to stop people from hurting themselves... especially when they don't know that it will... it isn't that he was going to jump and knew that he'd get hurt... then he would be an idiot... but not knowing is different... still, he should have researched, but you know... we're not perfect

If you look at a drop and say 'wow, thats a long ways down.' and jump, youre an idiot.

Haha, I could bet so much money that if I challenged a lot of you guys for 1 all day session, but with no drops at all (any drop above 2 feet) you guys would have so much trouble going through the environment with the same amount of efficiency and fluidity. I'm actually gonna start working on a thread for just this, but with more details on what is considered to be a penalty, and any exceptions.

Thank you all who gave me the idea to do this!

and that 3 feet 600 pounds stuff isn't accurate. the factors that contribute to a number like that are all over the board. how much you weigh being the biggest issue. and how your landing technique is. cause people reach for the ground and apply force as there body gets closer. but to just say EVERYBODY who jumps from 3 feet will generate 600 pounds of force upon impact... now thats just silly...

Hush you.  Scare tactics are more effective.

At absolute best, you're going to generate .75 times your bodyweight extra..  At worst, probably a little under triple.  At three feet, that is.

it depends on the time that is affected at the speed of a natural drop (10m\s)
