6-pack
« on: July 13, 2008, 10:54:15 PM »
Okay, let me start out by giving a brief background story. I'm 20, and for 18 years I was a gamer. Mountain dew 8-10 times a day, living off cheetos and ramen noodle. However, I was blessed and still have a thin figure. In the past 2 years, I've been working out A LOT and now am pretty muscular. I have 'guns' (I still laugh, because I use to be a huge sissy :P) and I feel a lot stronger. However, despite my rock hard abs, I don't have a 6-pack. well, I do, it just has a nice beefy layer that I can't get rid of. I do plenty of core work-out including pilates, but the flub just won't go away... I want to be able to take my shirt off wherever I go and not be self-conscious. Any tips?

P.S. I posted this thread in Diet because I figured the only reason I'm not toned is due to my diet. If this thread gets moved, that's okay, too.

You're actually one of the few people who got it right!

Diet is going to be the main issue here, and it's responsible for pretty much any weight gain or loss, with the effects of training helping out a tiny bit.  Basically... just eat better.  For me, I like a 40/30/30 percentage ratio of carbs to protein to fat.  I'd say start from there and see what happens.

You can also start doing some HIIT or tabata, which shoul dhelp out a lot.
