Welcome to the Freerunner, Issue 13 for September 2009!
The national jams are wrapping up, the days are getting shorter, and the storm clouds are
rolling in (in Seattle at least). This month officially marks the end of another summer, and
man it's been one to remember! It seems like there was a national jam or a major event in the
development of parkour every weekend. With all of the traveling I've had a chance to do this
summer, I know I've learned a whole lot more about progression and the amount of material I
still have to learn when it comes to parkour.
I suggest now that we're all just about settling back down, we look over what we've learned
this summer, what we still have to work on, and get to work. Don't let the weather dull your
need to train, and don't let yourself fall into boring training habits. Take all of the new
information you've accrued, and remix it in interesting new ways. Take a deep breath, revamp
your training, and dig back in!

Ryan Ford of the Tribe and owner of Colorado's APEX Movement has done a write up of the hugely
successful national jam he hosted and coordinated in August. Thanks to those of you who made it out for
making this years COPK National Jam a blast! Then we have Janine Cundy of APK's non-profit Parkour
Visions as she walks you through the first ever Washington National Jam. Thanks to all the traceurs
who came up and trained hard. We look forward to seeing you around here again.
