Welcome to The FreeRunner Issue 07!

Last issue we announced the addition of some new staff to The Freerunner, but we didn't introduce them. I'd like to take this opportunity to greet the traceurs and traceuses who will be writing for The Freerunner on a regular basis. Carolyn Steele is going to be discussing a lot of differences and similarities between communities. Jake Vigil is conducting traceurs interviews. Chris Kessler will be providing helpful hints and suggestions about traceurs who are training alone. Charles Moreland authors “Freerunner's Fitness,” a fitness based column. Gabe Arnold will be bringing us a chapter from a story he is writing centered around a future world where Parkour is one of the most popular activities in the world. Henry A. Collie is from Ireland and has learned a lot from APK since he started training. He decided he wanted to give back to the community that gave him so much, so he will be authoring a series of articles focusing on training games. I'd like to welcome all of these dedicated people to The Freerunner team, and our readers should look forward to seeing the fantastic content they're working on!

Differences and Similarities in Parkour Communities
by Carolyn Steele

Carolyn Steele wrote this guide to different communities from across the US. When she started the article she expected a nice categorization of Community X practices this way, and Community Y practices that way. But, of course, things in real life rarely fall neatly into categories. Instead, she discovered that there are as many different ways of practicing parkour as there are traceurs and traceuses. Join her on her exploration of various communities and how practice their parkour! Check out the article here.
