Filming and Editing a Parkour Video

Almost every traceur picks up a camcorder sometime during his training to see what their body looks like. It's natural to film yourself because you want to see if you're doing it right, how you can improve, and share your experience with others. If you've ever needed some tips on how to pick some good shots, check out this article on how to Film and Edit a Parkour video! It covers the main points from filming locations to which editing effects to avoid :)

'Trace the Path'
with Tyler M. #3

Trace the Path brings us a beginner who is starting his path through Parkour and was willnig to document every step to share his experiences with others!

Tyler RocklimbsHey everyone, and welcome to month 3 of Trace the Path. It’s getting cold here in Connecticut and I am getting a bit discouraged. I have found a few decent indoor activities that keep me in shape and improving, but when it is 30 degrees out with a wind chill of about 15 degrees it is rough! I will talk about one of those warm indoor activities, but first an update on my training.

Welcome to the Free Runner, Issue 04!

Hey everyone! Hope you had a tasty Thanksgiving. We've got some special treats for you this month. Now that we've all thoroughly stuffed ourselves with not-so-healthy food, we're featuring an article by Chris Salvato on eating right. Travis has a sweet sideflip tutorial up, released exclusively for The Freerunner! If you haven't heard, we've got a contest going on! If you're on Facebook (and if you're not on Facebook, get with the times!), sign up and become a fan of the American Parkour page . On December 20th, we'll select one random fan and they will win a cool new Perspective Hoodie and a pair of Ariakes! So show your support and become a fan! And just to let everyone know, during the month of November, APK money from each APK hoodie sold to save an acre of rain forest. By the end of the month, we managed to help save 52 ACRES of forest! That's over $750 donated! Nice job, everyone!

APK Travels to Costa Rica
Members of the Tribe (Mark Toorock and Levi Meeuwenberg) APK Alliance (Adrian Gonzalez), and Miami Parkour team (Jared Woods and Derek Klein) visited Costa Rica in an effort to spark interest in the art of Parkour, meet and jam with local practitioners, and tour the country. We were invited on behalf of the University of Veritas to put on a performance and day of workshops for the students and faculty alike. The trip was as much a success as it was a fun opportunity to share the country and hospitality of my family with friends. Check out Adrian's write up of the experience here on APK accompanied by an awesome video!
