"You might remember from this spring a post on a partial translation of Georges Hébert's "Guide pratique d'éducation physique".
After I posted it Gregg from Hawaii PK contacted me as he was working on the same project, and between the two of us we managed to plow through the 500+ pages of original material over the summer and fall. This new version is the "complete abridged version", meaning most of the material is there but some of it has been shortened, reformulated or skipped. Gregg published online a "complete unabridged literal translation", much closer to the original text so you can compare them more easily."

"As Erwan Le Corre reminded us in his comments on the first release, this translated booklet is not the Natural Method. A true training in the Natural Method can only be obtained from the active masters in France and Belgium, and no one may claim expertise without their approval. Yet, to quote Georges Hébert himself: "But under the pretext that these are the type of educators we need, we should not assume that physical education presents insurmountable difficulties and remains the exclusive domain of such specialists. We argue, on the contrary, that those who already have care of souls: parents, teachers, professors, officers, directors of companies and so forth., may well, with our book, conduct physical exercises. It is sufficient that they go to the trouble to understand deeply the spirit of the method and that they commit firmly to exercising themselves."
So we did follow Georges Hébert's advice and tried to make his work accessible, with all the imperfections one could expect. The amount of expertise displayed in his book is truly amazing in its range and depth, and really inspiring. I hope you will enjoy reading our rendition of it, thinking about it, trying out many of the exercises and working it into your Parkour or Freerunning exercise routine!"
