Worldwide Traceuse Project 2009

Liv Rowlands just released a video called "Worldwide Traceuse Project 2009 - Girls Training Parkour around the World." She started the project in October 2008, but due to some technical difficulties (as well as finding new people to include during that time!), it took a bit longer than anticipated to release the video. 

Liv writes, "I would like to add that a lot of women think they are not as physically capable or as strong as men, it is the limitations women put on themselves that will determine how much they can achieve, not being willing is not the same as not being able.
 
The same goes for men, they should expect just as much from their female counterparts as they do from their male, they do their female friends no favours by having low expectations and easy praise."

It is geneticly true women are not as strong as men you put a man and a women with the same workout and same diet and the guy will be naturaly stronger now a women who works out all the time and a guy that play world of warcraft all day and the women might be stronger

The point is that women often see something and say they'll never strong enough to do it. This is a terrible mindset, and this mindset is what ensures they will never be able to do it.  
 
If you're talking about max weightlifting numbers, sure. But look at the numbers of some of the Crossfit girls - these girls are no where close to maxing out.  
 
The limit of human (whether male or female) potential is a lot further than a lot of people feel it is... and the more someone tells themselves that they CAN do something, the more amazing things that person will be able to do.

Once again, happydud speaks truth. To say that women couldn't do the level of parkour I do would be ridiculous. The genes make a difference, but it's not so big that they should be discouraged from even trying.

Whoa there, Hannah More, I mean Meshach. Don't be a troll. If you're going to disagree, at least make an argument. 
 
Happydud is very right. When the people I train with look at me, they look at me knowing I am capable of more growth. Regardless of my sex, I do have a solid and healthy community that wants the whole to improve. I love this video, but frankly I'm sick of the sex argument. I was NEVER intimidated by a male-dominated parkour.  
This leads to a whole feminist issue that's really not appropriate here, but if you want to know what I think, PM me.

I won't bother to PM you because you just proved to me what your viewpoint is on feminism... Which I can assure you I view the exact opposite. 
 
Men are proven scientifically to be stronger than a woman, the structure, the frame of a mans body is much much different than a woman's. 
 
My view: Parkour is not for everyone. If you're not strong enough, not fit enough some of the moves in Parkour can be extremely dangerous.

Meshach - I think you will find that your views do not match those of most of the community. 
 
Men are not scientifically proven to be stronger than women. Men can achieve a higher level of absolute strength, but women are very capable of being very amazing. 
 
Parkour is for everyone...you just have to find how to train it properly until you get more conditioned.  
 
In general, most women are not weak...they just aren't strong yet.

Phreaknite, don't be an idealist. Parkour ISN'T for everyone. Do you understand why you do parkour? Probably not. Parkour is made for emergency situations: 
 
1. To save yourself 
2. To help/save others 
 
This isn't some extreme sport for kids looking for a adrenaline rush. If you happen to be one of these kids, go be a free runner. 
 
Doesn't matter if its a guy or girl, but if you don't have a strong determination, a high endurance for pain, and a positive attitude at the very least, don't even bother.

WOW! seriously people, r we really gonna argue? To me if a man OR a women train and condition themselves well, i believe ( no matter the sex ) they could be EQUALLY strong. Yes a man frame is bigger and can be stronger than a women frame, but from how determined and focused that person trains will determine whether they are strong enough or not. :

In my oppinion men are stronger than women but it gets evened out because females tend to be faster and more flexible than men. 8) :grin

Listen, genetically, men are stronger than women. This isn't me being sexist, this is the truth, it is because of testosterone. Anabolic steroids are hormones that happen to be greatly related to testosterone. Anabolic steroids grow muscle tissue faster.

this is where is say that its not sheer strength, but technique. i really hate to say it, but men TEND to be more physically able with sheer strength. its the sad stereotype brought upon by 8000 years of sexist history. i believe technique and training eliminates the line between traceuse and traceur.
