Crackheads Beware! Print E-mail

In conjunction with the opening of Primal Fitness we've gotten the opportunity to present about the gym and Parkour to some Washington DC police officers. Between Jesse and I we'll be covering their 4:30 and 6:30 AM role calls and their 2:30 PM as well. Jesse presented Parkour to the San Diego police department while he was at the CrossFit trainer's seminar last year, but now we have a real opportunity to train some police as the district headquarters is next to our gym. Next time you see a cop gatevault a fence and tictac down a stairway you'll know why ;)

IT's about time that the cops got some real training. Hey, these guys are our police officers they deserve respect, and I give it to 'em. But now they are learning a whole new tictac I mean tactic:) ha ha. It's cool to see these police getting involved and learning Parkour. That means, the guys who learn Parkour so they can run from cops, won't get far. And the cops will be healthier too. So thank you all of our armed forces. By the way Parkour came from the military. So it is a training they should have anyway. Way to get our cops invoved M2 and Jesse, this was a big step.

noooo they'll be able to catch me now

j/k good work you guys, its always good to see parkour moving in a positive direction, and i think this is a very big step, and not only that maybe word of this might spread thru the cop world and some areas might become more tolerant of those practicing it(and see thats its non destructive), of course so long as they(we traceurs) aren't doing anything illegal

Crackheads? in DC? No way.

In all seriousness, physical fitness is a much larger issue in law enforcement and fire safety personel than one might think. Although chasing criminals on foot is not a big part of being a police officer, being strong, healthy, and prepared (just in case) is. As a future upholder of the law, Parkour plays a huge role in my training, both in its philosophy and physical benefits.

Now you punks will think twice before running from the law ;-)

this is great. not only will police officers be able to catch people easier, but it will most likely make parkour more widely accepted.
