Workout- Strength skills work: The Planche

For 20:00, work the skills that preclude the planche. These would include Handstand holds to slow-lowering (whether against the wall or free-standing), the appropriate Planche Progressions , Pseudo-Planche pushups (pushups with your hands down near or at the level of your hips, hands facing to the side or towards the back) and the handstand press .

Try to use your time wisely to give the most total skill work for the session. Post skills used and time/reps for each to comments. Compare to 8/8/06

I already did a similar workout on monday, and I did the coach sommer's planche progressions earlier today. I will do yesterday's workout, which I missed.

My planche progressions are improving. I can now hold the advanced tuck for 20 seconds.

Instead of planche I will be trying all day to press my handstand. My wrists still hurt when I do these, Gear how can I improve my wrist str.

warm them up thoroughly before starting by rotating them in each direction and stretching them lightly. You can also work on knee-push-ups on bent wrists (a common gymnastics exercise) but be careful as it's easy to injure yourself!

Are there any other ways to strengthen your wrists. 'Cause I got the same problems.

I worked a lot on the tucked planche the most i got it for was about 15 seconds but that was only once, i really think i need to strengthen my wrists as well becaquse they are feeling sore. I actually can down to a planche from a hanstand once sucessfully and held it.

been so loong since I did planche progressions. Also, I didn't read to do them properly, just worked on frog and tuck planche. Tuck - not worth measuring. Frog - 52 seconds, which I'll assume is a pr.
handstand against a wall after 20 minutes of practice - 53 seconds
free handstand - not happening today, about 5 seconds.

Usual morning shtick!

My best for tuck planche was 16 seconds! For planches it really saves my wrists if I just do it on my fingertips. And for L-Sits it gives me that extra bit of height for any slight wobbling I might do :]

Did some handstand work, but my arms were pretty sore from rock climbing so I did some squats as well.
