APK Warm-Up

Workout:

Today we're going to piggy-back on the Crossfit workout of the day, as we so rarely see any long, endurance workouts around here. It might be an interesting test.

Run 10k, post time to comments.

10 km lol. How very interesting, Gear! Haven't done that since a year or so. It's too bloody hot too :P

But, though I resented the idea alone, I did the workout anyway and set a personal record of 42 minutes. I've cut loads on my endurance work since starting these WOD's, but I still seem to keep up quite well :)

Aww my calves :cry

I still have about 2 miles left w/ my 10K pace at 42 minutes. My legs are kind of dead from my workouts the last couple days but I may give it a shot.

My legs be dead! Can't wait to go take a dip in the pool. Not sure when I hit 10k and I'm bad at judging distances so I just ran for what seemed to be an average time on the Crossfit comments and about what double my 5k time is.

Total running time : 43 minutes 75 seconds
[HAH! DO MAFF!]

I just cycled the entire distance on my bycicle with my fathers gps first to know the distance. Had nothing better to do :grin .

I feel kind've slow, I got 55 minutes.
I think I may have got the distance a bit wrong, or i might just need to run more :grin

Good idea Bubblemaker. I'll do that once I move into my new apartment so I'll have it good from the start!

And Rupert - is this the first time you've run 10k? How can you base your speed on something you've done once :] Sub 60 minutes is pretty good. And the fact that you ran that long is good too. Keep up the good work!

I always set my car's travel odometer to measure distance. I have a perfect loop here at Woodberry for this, and I've never run anywhere near that far, so this should be interesting :p

Hehe yeah this is the second time I've run this far, the first being a week or so ago when it was MEGA hot out [unfortunately :]. But I had to keep up with Kelly!

It's pretty brutal, but pain goes away, especially with a nice dip in a coooool pool.

Did Monday's workout today and attempted the 10K about 20 minutes later. Boy was that a bad idea. If my legs weren't beat b/f today, they sure are now. It's been a while since I ran a 10K distance. I only managed about 4 miles b/f I had to call it quits. Didn't keep time.
