"Use your imagination not to scare yourself to death but to inspire yourself to life." --Adele Brookman-- Strength skills revisited.

APK Warmup

Workout- 7 rounds of the following, 2:00 rest between rounds-

Planche - Max-hold of the appropriate progression

L-sit - Max hold of the position

Handstand Pushup - Max Reps

Front Lever - Max hold of the appropriate progression

Perform each exercise one after the other in circuit fashion. Post the totals for each exercise or questions about appropriate substitutions to comments.  Compare to 4-25-06

Substitutions:

Planche- Between the frog stance and the tuck planch a planche position with feet elevated is a great step. Also working slow lowering from handstands either in tuck or pike position is a great drill

L-sit- Bent knee, alternating legs or hanging L-position

Handstand Pushup- Check out the info on beast skills...slow-lowering or timed handstand/headstand holds are great.

Front Lever- Leg lifts or Ice cream makers (controlled swing ending in lever position on each up swing to the front. Attempt to hold this as long as possible before swiging back)

A workout that works the area I need to improve on, strength. My main weakness in this is the L-sit which I have a lot of trouble with just to hold with straight legs on the ground, I don't see how some people can do that for 6 minutes :?
Anyway, I will first work towards a one minute L-sit hold :)
