Rest Day Poll..

So that's two weeks down using our new schedule, so the question is, how do you guys like it? Do you prefer the 5 days on, 2 days off with the weekends open, or the 3 days on, one day off that we were using previously? The workout is for the community, so I'd hate to force you all into a schedule that you didn't like. So post up, what do you like better?

After you're done, check out a few articles:

An Apple A Day ...as if you didn't know already :p

Dan John's site has this great little bit called the 10 commandments of Lifting . Also check out the Get Up archives while you're there.

Hopefully everybody is keeping up with Beast Skills . Adding a few of the skills that Jim takes on to your regular workout will build immense amounts of full-body strength.

A great article from Ross Enamait- Jump Rope Training . Ross is the man, foshizzle!

Weekends open works nicely for me!

5 day on 2 day off is good for me, better than 3 days on 1 day off. However I prefer workouts in the weekends when I have the time. For that reason I do all the workouts but I take my rest days on wednesday and thursday which are busy days for me. The only downside is that I can't post my results the day you guys do, but I can live with that :)

I actually like having that "surprise" day off during the week sometimes.

I like the 3 days on and 1 day off, however with the 5 on and 2 off I can always choose between our site and CrossFit's for a WOD.

The off days are a great opportunity for skill development or balance training.

i'm sorry i missed yesterday my friend had to go to the hospital and so i ended up taking her and stayign till they released her this morning, i'll make it up today.

The onl reason i like weekends open is beacuse that's when i jam the most, but really i don't mind being surprised either.

Exactly. I rarely think you should take a rest day and actually just rest...active recovery goes so much farther. Parkour skills training, stretching, hot/cold showers, etc. go a long way towards making every workout more productive!

Damn that movie on the rope skipping page. And I was glad I could do a few consecutive double unders :eek

I think I'm gonna love my jump rope in the near future.

No joke...I can do double-unders all day and walk around like I have something going for me, then I watch a boxer doing rope work and wonder why I suck so much :p

Yeah, he works in DC and made it out to a jam at one time...I've never been so sore as the day I tried to keep up with him and his friend Steve in bodyweight skills :p

Yeah, I was there. When he did the lever on the wall in front of the gas station I was shocked. And then we went to the spot across the street and tried to precision to the second and third stairs - he hit the second on his first try - when most of us who'd been training couldn't.
That was the jam that ended up at Smoothie King! :grin

Had a really sweet jam today in downtown chicago!! it was cold at fist but warmed up. everyone was doing massive percisons and really great stuff. I can't wait for the michigan jam and bringing the Aero crew over. I think i like the 3 day workout plan better.

I only just noticed that movies have been added to most of the exercise descriptions. Does clarify some things.

Thanks for the plug and kind words!

That Bethesda jam was fun, you guys are crazy. :x And I got to see how new I am to Parkour. Still so much to learn!

I'll try and make it to the Rockville gym sometime soon. I'm definitely looking forward to getting in more practice time and catching up with everyone.
