Quadrupedal Movement (Backwards, Basic) Print E-mail
Friday, 05 February 2010

Quadrupedal movement, moving on all four limbs, is widely used in parkour as both a conditioning exercise and a practical technique for movement. The most basic form of quadrupedal movement is the reciprocating, forward-moving variation. However, another great exercise is the same thing in reverse, or backwards. Basic quadrupedal movement, backwards, is an effective way to get a full body workout that works slightly different muscles than the forward version. For example, the backwards version results in a much better pushing workout for the shoulders and arms.
