APK now has a fully integrated working map to use as a Traceur Database by location, along with a Hotspots directory and Jam calendar. So, by looking at one map, you can find out who's around your area, or an area that you'll be visiting. You can find hotspots, and bigger national level jams. Read on for more info...
Skynative has been working furiously on this, day and night, and it is now exactly the way we want it. It shows only your username, not your real name, and your address with as much detail as you choose, so you can be either just "in New York City" or down to street and street number if you choose. There is even a member directory search built into the page, so once you find someone in an area, you can see their profile pretty easily. We have to warn that this is considered "Beta version" and therefore may not be completely stable. As always, carefully consider whether your information should be placed on the internet. By adding your information you consent that you are 13 years old or older. Read on for directions for adding yourself, the Map is for registered members only so that we can track who has access to the information. And did I mention that Skynative rocks????!!!! Google Map Instructions for Users How to join: 1. Go to the "My Details" section on the "My APK" Menu from the main page. 2. Click "Edit" then "Update Your Profile" *3. Fill out the "Location - Home" tab with as much information as you are comfortable giving out. 4. On the "Contact Info" tab verify your user name. 5. Click the "Update" button, and you're done!
Notes: *Usually only city and state are necessary, however some locations require street address, postal/zip code, and/or country info.
-The map markers are updated when you click the APK Map button, so simply refreshing the map page won't make you show up.
-Your location info, if given in your profile, will be public so please use caution. Minors should ask a parent about how much information is ok to give.
-There is a field to search the member directory for a user name below the map.
-You will also find hotspots and jams on the map with different colored markers. At this point only admins can add these, but if you would like one added just email one of us with the necessary info. |
