Big things i found to help is

*arm momentum- Make your arms like dead weights for your jump, and swing them far back before your jump and then swing them up so you can almost feel them flying off, all that momentum will get thrown into your jump.
(that was the key in learning my backflips.)

*Shoes-take them off, they will surprise you on how much they can effect training.

I like this video though, wish i had like like a year ago. haha.

Wow, great tutorial! I will definitely use this when I actually try to learn how to do a backflip!

That was good thanks! Now I can probably use it to teach some of my other friends to do backflips.
Also, does anyone have a really good sideflip tutorial? I'm having a really hard time getting them and I need some help!

This is one of the best backflip tutorials I've seen because it shows how to overcome the fear. I'm showing this to a few of my friends so we can try it out. :D

I am glad that Free Running came along so we could learn back tucks.

Good tutorial, but I can't seem to commit to the actual flip, I can do half of it when I use a spotter, but I always fall down halfway through.

Good tutorial. I disgree with the jumping backwards technique though.

As mentioned, this is suboptimal technique and does not generate the necessary height if you want to work more advanced˙ skills. Head should stay neutral, and the jump should be perfectly vertical until the apex is reached. Then the tuck should be initiated with the driving knees.

The spotting technique from the backside is a good one though.
