PKNY The New York Parkour National Jam

Yes, I think "soggy" is a good way to describe the day. We started out behind the rocks at Hecksher in Central Park. Because of the rain there was a mediocre turn-out and not a lot of action. From there we split in two groups - Jesse's group that did some natural training in the Ramble had a great time and a killer conditioning session. I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up, so I headed out with the Riverside Parkour crew to snap some photos. The crew there really toughed it out to do some QM through puddles and a killer leg workout. The rain held up pretty much all day and drenched everyone through. Thankfully it cleared up at night in time to enjoy Jesse's hospitality for a 2nd BBQ at his place! Thanks to Jesse for being an amazing host! The few pictures I got can be seen in the photo album "PKNY". A little more info in "Read More".

Thanks to Mike from Primal Fitness for giving me a lift up there, we did the drive at 7:00 and rolled in to his brother's place in the East Village around 12:30. Thanks to Chris for having us! Among the travelers: Chris Salvato from Denver, Brian, Sake (sp?) and Max from Atlanta, Ebo, Rob, Mike and me from DC, Bryan from Baltimore, Chris Price from Michigan, Zac from wherever he's from :P - I'm not sure who else came from afar? it was great to see Pyro, Thomas and a bunch of NY familiars, I was bummed that Arfel and Vert were afraid of the rain :)

Jesse's parents are saints to put up with everyone sleeping in their house! There were a lot of people pulling off some technical and creative moves given the circumstances. Sake's balance is incredible, she walked the rails at the Banks forward, then backwards! Hopefully someone will add some stuff about Friday - and Jesse said there would be a hell night on Saturday - so I'm waiting to hear how the rest of the weekend turned out! - M2

Despite the soggyness it was a great time. Everyone had a lot of fun, and it was awesome to see a lot of you again. I wish I could have stayed for sunday as well, but hopefully next year.

It was a great time as I had hoped. Who's afraid of a little rain anyway? :p

Carrying logs up and down waterfalls in the Ramble was a good, good time.

hey I just moved from Monkey Vault in Toronto, ontario and would like to continue my Parkour training in NY. Dan said to get in contact with PKNY. I currently live in Albany, New York, but plan on being in the downtown area every other weekend. Any help would be appreciated
