Zac is one of the nicest and hardest working people here at APK. His contribution to the community is limitless, from Rochester to NYC to DC and through APK out to the world, Zac is always on top of stuff, always outgoing, training others, and always training hard - truly a model traceur! Thanks for everything you do. - M2

From Charles Moreland-  In my twenty-one years I have run across some very interesting people: some memorable, some influential, and some just outright fun to meet. So let's just say that it came as no surprise to me when I was asked to write up this commemoration for one of APK's most outstanding members, Zachary Cohn. Read more for the rest of Charles' comments.

Since beginnning his parkour career, Zac has remained a driven individual and a wonderful asset in the growth of American Parkour. While he constantly strives to spread the practice of parkour, Zac has decided to help not only through his physical talent, but also through his impressive managerial skills. While many of us are clueless as to the inner workings of a website such as APK, let me assure you that much of its seamless and easy functionality is specifically due to Zac's intuitive mind and sheer dedication. In addition to this, he has also been an integral part in the creation and execution of The Freerunner, APK's monthly newsletter.

Outside of the digital world, Zac continues to shine. In the Summer of '08 he underwent a cross-country journey, at great expense to himself, to visit and train with as many parkour communities as possible. With him, he brought ideas and influences from the national community down to the local sector in an effort to help connect and create national harmony. Later that year, he envisioned and co-founded Rochester Parkour, establishing a brand new community for one of New York's major cities.

Zac's continued selfless dedication and hard work for the national website that brings parkour to your fingertips has not gone unnoticed, and all of us from APK would like to reach out and give thanks.

Thanks for all you do, Zac! You truly have made this place special.

Zac - At (B)East Coast a couple years ago pretty much everyone was nice to me even though I was a complete beginner with absolutely no physical ability. But you especially, went out of your way to make me feel like a part of the parkour community, like I could actually make something of myself. I'd get all bummed and self-concious and you told me, "You don't suck, you're just new." That attitude you have which refuses to acknowledge obstacles as insurmountable is of paramount importance in athletic endeavors, especially parkour. Even though my progress has been slow...

16. 06-16-2009 11:16

...it's that type of positive attitude that has sustained me and helped me not give up on parkour. I don't have the same dedication to training as others, but I do have psychological endurance. Thank you for helping me begin (and continue) my own journey and thank you for being such an integral part of what makes APK so great. :)8)

Zac, you are awesome. You were extremely nice and helpful to me at last year's Colossal Jam in Chicago. You showed me how to reduce swelling when I bashed my shins. You were also just plain helpful and extremely kind. It is obvious that you love what you are doing. You are a great role model for traceurs and you embody what I want to do with parkour. I hope to see you again at this year's Colossal Jam.

Really enjoyed Zac's visit here in the SF Bay Area. He's also been a great help and supporter of SFPK. Thanks, much props, and keep inspiring others!

I was rummaging through old posts when I saw this one, and figured I should comment. Don't know how I missed it the first time--maybe because I haven't used my account in two years?

Zac, hurry up and get back up here! I miss training with you and just hanging out in general. My brother and I have been scouting out hotspots over the summer, and I want to expand our operations when you return. I really appreciate all you do; I'm a better traceur because of your example and advice. Thanks a ton, man. :)
