Texas Parkour Women's Jam Print E-mail
Tuesday, 17 March 2009

Congratulations to Texas Parkour for the huge success on their first ever womens' jam! On March 7th, Anne Opalko and Rebecca McCarthy from TXPK led a group of ten+ women (including guest teachers Janine Cundy and Brandee Laird from Seattle) spent the day learning how to condition for parkour, roll, climb, tac, vault, and wallpass.

"I can't believe I just did that," one girl smiled as she looked back down the 7ft wall she'd just passed. Another girl bounced excitedly up and down after doing her first ever lazy vault. It was a day full of successes and surprises for everyone, interspersed with completely necessary dance party breaks.

For more information and pictures, check out the TXPK forum thread.

Thanks for running the story.

I don't really agree with this...

So it's okay to do just "Men's Jams"?

Didn't think so. I'm totally fine with girls doing parkour, but why do they have to separate themselves? Why can't we all just practice parkour together?
