The handstand is an important fundamental of gymnastics, and should be in parkour and freerunning as well. Handstands increase upper body strength, spatial awareness, and balance. Also, the handstand is a great way to become familiar with controlling the body in an inverted state, making it a vital introduction to tumbling and acrobatics.

If you want to start doing it try doing it up agaisnt a wall and it will help keep your back straight and legs, then gradually start doing it off the wall and your get better and better at it.

well as the other guys said (this is to pkyaz) do it against a walla and kinda lean off of it and hold yourself without the wall and incase you mess up go back to the wall which illiminates the fear of falling on your back

but my problem is what is a good way to avoid injuries when you fall torwards your back?

if you start to fall towards your back you should be able to tuck your body and roll out of the handstand

Yeah or do a pirrouette which is like twisting your body as you fall back so you end up on your feet...
