The push up is a fundamental exercise that builds upper body strength for a wide variety of skills and exercises. By doing push ups, a practitioner will improve movements such as vaults and climb ups. In addition, the push up serves as an introduction to a wider and harder variety of similar exercises such as dips, handstand push ups, and plyometric push ups.

Easy. 
 
For all you aspiring free runners, do the push ups EXACTLY like he does them. 
 
Vaulting will be ten times easier. Especially when you have multiple vaults after another.
