Rail Squat Print E-mail
Monday, 19 January 2009

A spin-off of the regular squat, the rail squat builds leg strength, balance, and proprioception skills. In addition to targeting the typical muscle groups of a regular squat, the rail squat develops small stabilizer muscles throughout the body as you fight to keep your balance on the rail. This balance training is invaluable in developing a solid precision jump and other skills on top of rails.

I'm going to add this into my lower body and precision workout. So I'll end up doing these almost everyday of the week except when I'm doing upper body exercises. Thanks for the idea.

yea seriously people come to these websites to get help and learn to be better, not to get shot down by people who think more highly of themselves then they should, i'm just starting out and im looking for a supportive environment, if you're that good, ( not saying in a sarcastic way ) take some time to share your expiriences and tips to help those starting out, they'll really appreciate it.

If any one is having trouble with the balance part of this exercise I learned that its best to try and stand on the rail by the balls of your feet but not to close to the toes. Hopefully You'll find this to be useful in tour training.

soo i noticed shoes in every video...
so will slip on vans work??

12. 10-14-2009 14:56

well they aren't vans lol.

The shoes these free runners where are really flexible and light weight compared to the conventional running shoe.

You can get these kinds of shoes anywhere.

Just go to your local shoe store or Payless. I don't suggest spending a lot of money just on shoes but you at least want to have great arches and replace them when you know they're worn.
