The sit up is a fundamental exercise used to develop core strength. Used by sports teams and military organizations everywhere, the sit up is also useful in parkour. Sit ups build a stronger core which aids in all movement and helps prevent injury.

Are there any other ab/core exercises? I've been trying to find some on this site. I have to do a hundred or so sit ups before I even feel anything and I'm starting to think that's no longer efficient.

Don't bend your back like he is, it's really bad for you and can create long term problems.
