2005 Saw a lot of development for the American Parkour scene. So many people made huge contributions to spreading a good understanding of what Parkour is about, holding jams, teaching and helping fellow traceurs and newbies alike. Asa has compiled some of the major events of 2005. If you have an event you feel should be part of the article, please email him,

and he'll get it added. Thanks to everyone who helps make the American Parkour community the best, most active, most friendly and most kickass out there!
I compiled this review of the last 6 months in American Parkour history, as a resource for all to benefit from.
Special thanks to: Demon, Faelcind, Ace, Exo, and Gear.
A big thank you goes out to everyone who has participated in Parkour in this last year, and those who have been active members of the community, and especially those who have taken the time and put in the effort to spread the truth about Parkour.

July 12-13, 2005 PKCali meet David Belle and Jocelyn Demoniere
This past July, myself, along with a few of my Cali bretheren (Cliff, Charles, Russel, Jeremy, and Zack) had the pleasure to meet David Belle and Jocelyn Demoniere. We spent a few hours of training with David in which he should us some brief training methods on some of the beach equipment and later had some dinner. We were able to discuss Parkour history and philosophy deeper than any of us has had the oppurtunity to discuss before. David and Joss are both great guys and it was a honor to spend time with them. - trACEur

July 30, 2005 TO Jam
On July 30th, PKTO hosted a massive mastadon of jam in their home turf of Toronto. There were over 100 traceurs in attendance, including those from Montreal, the USA, and of course, Toronto. Those of us who were fortunate enough to attend were soon show that quality was not replaced by quantity, but complemented by it. After the gruelling day of training and exploring, the traceurs unwound with a crazy night of partying, martial arts, joke mongering, watermelon destroying, and a bit of sleep.
Traceurs from the USA: M2, Exo, Hangman, Cak010, Pistolwhip, Nem, and others.

Novermber 12, 2005 Wicked DC Jam On this chilly November weekend, the infamous Band of Merry Men (of VA-parkour) put together a powerhouse of a jam in Washington DC and Maryland. The Parkour session, which spanned from early morning to afternoon began in Bethesda, and ended up in Silver Springs, the Merry Men's state-of-the-art training facility. After a brief rest, the majority of the traceurs moved on to the Extreme Cheer and Acro gym in Maryland, where they tricked, tumbled and traced late into the night.
Traceurs from DC, MD, VA, and NJ attended.
