I find this hard, I've done it a few times, but once I didn't jump far enough, and they landed on the edge. They slipped and I fell with my stomach and my hands. It nocked the breath out of me. Now I'm kinda scared to do it again.

yeah i have had stuff like that happen to. i misjudged my grip on the edge of a hallway roof (one that is just the roof, no sides to do a proper cat leap onto) swung backward, lost my grip, and accidentally held my arm out to the ground (a bonehead move) without thinking about it and almost broke my wrist again. Last time i broke it the same way, but with more force i guess

to be honest this is quite easy when you get usesd to the flow of your movements when you hit the object. just land in a half crouched position with your arms out forward then stand up and you should be balancing.

Hey, this might help if you get scared, but even just start with lines on the ground, jump form one line to the next, getting increasingly father apart until you feel you have got that down to ease. Then start with little elevation, a plank of wood or 2, and jump onto that, just keep increasing the height/distance and BAM! You gots yo salad :]
P.S. I suggest never beginning on a high elevation and a far distance!! One, it can be quite intimadating to a learning mind and kill your confidence, and 2, I did, jumped from maybe 6 ft up across maybe only 5 ft (top of a playground) missed..

i am gonna practice this before i go to ledges. prolly make a few chalk lines and get used to the tech before i continue. also i am thing about coupling this, the wall run and the (what's it called?) landing. might even mix in a roll. meh, excuse my pk savvy.. new at this.

Be very carefully when you try this.. I tonight was practicing this and I got carried away and slipped and feel backwards on the ledge that I was jumping off of and hit my back and right arm on it.. and I now have new bruises to add to my collection.

For this, you obviosly need grip on your shoes. Im just wondering I have K-swiss running shoes with pretty good grip, and they are light, but they don't bend that much and should i get new shoes?

the kids can do it on slippers. it is one of the most essential things to be mastered in parkour.

all u have 2 do is lean back a little when u land and let ur momentum take over that lliiittttlllleeee bit. xperiment with how far u should lean bak n u'll have this phat down. (this worked for me rlly well, i dunno if pro's recommend this or not)

yea, agree with kl2lv. Start off using lines on the ground. Learn how far you can jump and do this over and over with different distances until you can do it with your eyes closed...seriously, after trained this i would do it with my eyes closed to see how well my mechanics were. Then try to jump at a low height, like on the curb until eventually you go to higher objects. Try to be leaning a little back when you land so that the momentum wont push you off, also bend your knees for some cushion which helps control. I recommend training this as much as u can anywhere you go. Good luck

ive found just acting like the landing spot as a top point. or, make sure theres something behind it so you can just keep yourself moving. never jump towards water kids!

I practiced these alot today. My progression was
Sidewalk lines Curb Bricks on the planter in front of my house. Park picnic tables.
And because i used to skateboard, i have this old skateboard rail laying around my garage, and i practice jumping on that to get over my fear of rails.
