I've seen gyms where there is a spot completely dedicated to that kind of stuff. Theres like a paded wall and a mat underneath with foam under it. It sounds stupid but it works check it out.

If you can't find some sort of mat to use, at the very least get a spotter. Even if you don't really need them, just having that little bit of support is all it takes to give you enough confidence to commit yourself to it, which is really what makes it successful.

its super easy you just gotta commit to it and not get scared half way through it or you will get hurt. i usually just do two steps up then flip so i dont lose any momentum. try it in a gym if you dont wanna anywhere else

You just get a mat or a mattress and run up the wall at a slight angle so when you come down you land on it. Also I've done a back flip on my trampoline and landed on my head and I was doing a front flip about 10 seconds later.

So it takes more than you would think to hurt yourself bad.

Personally I wouldn't try it without doing a back flip on a trampoline first successfully. At least on the trampoline you have a soft landing.

It greatly helps if you learn to do a standing backflip very smooth.
Once you get that down, find a wall, preferably a brick wall that is perpendicular to grass.
After you've mastered a Backflip on horizontal ground and found a wall, run towards the wall, jump up as if you are going to do it, but only plant you foot and get a feel of the wall.
Then, if you feel that you are confident enough, try to run towards the wall, plant your foot about chest-high, and flip.

NOTES:
1. You CANNOT hesitate
2. It greatly helps if you have a friend the same skill level as you trying it with you
3. Have Fun
