Jams are what we call it when a bunch of people get together to do Parkour. San Francisco Parkour does a lot to help promote parkour in a very positive way in the San Francisco Bay area, and recently they've started having regularly scheduled jams to get people out moving. Read more for a brief description of the Jam by NoSole and some pictures. Update - Check out the Video!
Beginning a new year brought a positive change for San Francisco Parkour as we introduced our monthly regional jam to help draw traceurs from all parts of the Greater SF Bay Area. With people traveling two to three hours from every direction just to be a part of this, the masses truely showed a solid commitment to the sport by gathering in southern San Francisco. The 30+ traceurs in attendance helped to make this the largest jam to date in SFPK's relatively short history. With some showing up as early as 11:00am to the first stop at Commodore Sloat Elementary School, and the last of us saying our final goodbyes at around 6:15pm at our last stop at San Francisco State University, it was also our longest! Thanks to everyone who made a special effort to attend and help get people organized. The second installment on February 10th up in the North Bay will be sure winner as we continue our new tradition!

I really like the trend of making Jam vids that show people, not just "parkour porn"

Thanks guys, SF has a great community and we're just glad to be part of APK too.
I have to admit, I constantly look to COPK as my model cuz they have created such a comprehensive program. If you want to get crowds like this, just be proactive about it and plan as far in advance as you can. I would LOVE to see more vids with big crowds! It's awesome to know there are so many others out there gettin it done!

I can't handle the dude in the ninja costume. That is the most overblown, ridiculous thing ever.

I met Ryoga (the Ninja...) only once, but he seems totally cool (even in the hot "costume"... lol!). IF the way he dresses is a problem, it sure isn't his...

Yeah man, the weather was a total fluke. It's been raining and/or cold every other day. I guess the PK gods smile on us!
BTW, if any of you fools ever make it out here, you always have a place to stay
