wannabes, half the time if not every time its people who want to look cool by saying they live and breath parkour, when they don't know the moves and are to scared to try them if they do.

Basically, those annoying little noobs that say they can do everything that you can [cept of course, they "can" do it better lol] and get ur hopes up, then you invite them to a one on one jam session, and they either totally suck, or they just stand there like an idiot staring at the object they were "going" to vault lol

Dang. I decorate my bus, but I know all the moves, ain't afraid to try them out.. can do flows and all... but I horribly exaggerate to my friends. Where does that place me?

5. 02-13-2008 17:57

I'd say that places you at a spot where you'd better live up to what you tell your friends, and/or show them what you can do and let them decide for themselves, friend! :zzz Just let it roll and hop on. I guess.

i can do lots. but mainly i have trouble doing flips and what not. it hurts seeing my friend try who really cant do anything. :cry

7. 08-09-2008 18:30

i wish there was someone in my area that was on the same level as me. my friends cant keep up (on the up side it makes me feel better) but if i were to try and keep up with someone who makes this a daily practice then id be screwed. plus im not a fan of the flips and what not... does that make me a bad person?

8. 09-29-2008 17:21

I dont think that flips are realy nessesary becuase it's not part of true parkour, freerunning would be different tho, i'd still like to try a flip eventualy after i get more basic moves down.

I actually dont get this word or it's meaning. Does it mean you are not supposed to be a fan of parkour if you are not also practitioning? And does it mean that those who want to learn have to try all aspects of pk all at once? ...or is the meaning, of this word, that this group you are referring to are giving parkour as a whole a bad name? To me being a "wannabe" or new beginner does not automatically mean being something bad/stupid (as i am reading it here in "annoying little noobs"). I just found the whole thing a bit close minded I guess. Didnt quite understand...

i know a few of these type of people. MIKE

i am a newbie i started about4 or 5 months agoe and i can do the do the basics, i do need hints and tips though on how to jump higher and some tips on running up a wall, so if any one could help me out iwould really apreciate it. :)

12. 03-28-2009 19:49

i can do the moves but my flow sucks. i can roll but i pause a little before i do it. i can do a short 1 step wall run but i can't do a tic tac cause i can't jump far enough. how do i improve that stuff? :?

13. 04-27-2009 17:47

So, it's like one of those lazy skaters that can't do shit on a board yet they go buy a $150 board?

14. 05-12-2009 13:12

whats wrong with being a wannabe i guess everyone who knows the art of parkour started being a wannabe im starting to spread the puertorrican parkour movement and everyone starts being a wannabe.peace.

15. 06-07-2009 04:31

The whole way I view this word, is mainly the people that preach by parkour and want to say they are traceurs before they can even do a safety vault right... I won't say all noobz because 6 months ago I was there and now I'm training the people who look how I did 6 months ago. its kind of the circle. Remember, we were all new once and for most of us, someone came along and helped, so we need to do the same for anyone else we see just starting!

16. 07-16-2009 20:53

i do hate noobs that talk big but cant even do a lazy vault belive me i have had my share of big mouths saying they could "show me up with one hand behind there back" but cant put out but as it was said before we were all noobs once upon a time

17. 09-06-2009 16:02

My deal is that i AM new to this. Ive been jumping over stuff(no hands) for a while, jumping over benches, gaps, tables, people, and stuff mainly just for show cuz i can jump pretty damn high. But I only recently discovered parkour and everyone is very secretive and on a know-a-guy basis. I wanna learn, how can i meet people?

18. 10-03-2009 15:54

im really new and havent even really started yet. ive been researching Parkour and Freerunning and trying to decide which one to practice; i wish there wasnt such a definative line between the two. i love the idea of being able to do the moves described in the site, but id like to do the flips and moves that are basicly for show, but i dont want to defined as a "Poser" by more experienced Traceurs. Parkour is appealling because of the efficiancy in which the Traceurs move, but i like Freerunning because it takes many of the aspects of Parkour but adds flair and aesthetics to it. I need help.

19. 10-31-2009 14:07

Seriously...is there really a difference between Freerunning and Parkour? Or is it just a shnazzy translation from French to English...? O.o

20. 01-05-2010 19:55

No, there really is no difference, just tons of misinterpretations. However each individual is a different mind and will have different views. Originally, the term 'Freerunning' was used as the translation for 'Parkour' for us Americans, but due to mis-interpretation, they are viewed as two different forms of the same thing...movement. Movement is movement, after all, isn't it? How one chooses to move is PURELY PERSONAL....there should be unification here, not separation.

I really F***in hate when people come on this site to insult people and disrespect parkour. if you aren't coming on here to help support the parkour society, learn, or assist in furthering parkour just shut up. don't post your stupid little names for people and demean them.

22. 03-15-2010 11:28

i say im a freerunner but im not that good. i dont consider myself a sponsorsheep though cause everyone sucks when they start, im just working on getting better. am i in the right?
