Well, here's what I learned from a doctor that is a mountainbiking partner of mine: the best meal for a long dayof any sport is a carbohydrate-based meal. Carbohydrates are the energetic compound that the boy most slowly dissolves, so it lasts longer. But, if you eat sweets, the boy will release insulin, thereby giving you a burst of energy, but flushing all the energy you have left. So basically, some pasta, bread or cheese would do great the night before you go gout to exercise. Top it off with some bread and water the next morning and you're good to go.
