One thing, I do not like eggs. What could I put instead of eggs for protein?

In addition to eggs, the following are good sources of protein: lean beef, chicken (white meat), tuna, salmon, cottage cheese, beans, lean pork tenderloin, soy. There are some good internet sources to find information about healthy foods.

In regard to the eggs, if you plan on eating the whole thing (white and yolk) don't eat eggs very often. Sure they have protein but also a ton of cholesterol and other stuff you don't want a lot of.

But...there is hope. The whites contain almost all of the beneficial parts of the egg, so if you eat eggs on a daily basis, try to limit yourself to the whites expect for maybe a day or two a week.

*Bonus: you can still use whites to make omelets so enjoy!

vegetarian substitutions for protein?

7. 02-08-2008 09:38

re vegetarian subs for protein:
tofu (scrambled tofuti instead of scrambled eggs)
a whey protein shake (made with soy milk or water)
a serving of oatmeal (made with soy milk or water as well as a scoop of whey protein)

a fresh veggie juice (made in a juicer) will give you lots of amino acids (not protein). so a fresh made veggie juice and a some oatmeal (w/ or w/o the whey) should get you plenty of protein and aminos.

13. 11-19-2008 18:04

instead of eggs eat tuna/fish grilled or baked. instead of oatmeal eat cereal. have a glass of skim milk/ yogurt (on side). try to add onions (superfood- helps live longer) in eggs. :grin

14. 12-14-2008 09:47

15. 01-03-2009 19:02

i like all thats up there, but i don't think i can eat all of that for breakfast lol!

16. 01-05-2009 17:17

Hello... I'm from Brazil and we are not used to eat eggs or bacons at breakfast, not everyday... I'm not sure if i'll be able to eat all those things.

17. 03-25-2009 18:12

This and the protien drink they posted will be healthy and delicious!

18. 05-31-2009 10:18

A tip if you dont like oatmeal, put in two teaspoons of brown sugar. Try none at all, but it makes it a little better.

19. 07-17-2009 12:59

has anyone here ever tryed eating an egg raw i have and i like it but other people try it and they throw up does that make me a freak? :cry

20. 07-27-2009 18:51

What about a Cliff bar for protein and some carbs in the morning? I love cliff bars especially the Chocolate chip (they changed the recipe and its sooooo amazing now). I just need a quick breakfast that gives me everything, cause I hate breakfast.... usually I eat something minimal, like muffins and milk.

21. 07-27-2009 18:52

No it doesn't make you a freak. I have tried it and almost got it down except for it was way to much for me to down in one hit. So I spit it out.

22. 08-22-2009 18:49

Do you guys recommend eating this everyday..? Or just eating it on days that you work out? Cause that seems like a lot to go threw to just have it for a regular breakfast.

23. 09-01-2009 04:11

I like to use 1 egg and 2 egg whites, and replace the oatmeal with a whole wheat bagel to put the eggs on. It's not as good but its about the same.

24. 10-13-2009 07:25

If you don't like unsweetened oatmeal, try a bit of honey on it. Not only does it make it taste better, but if you get local honey, it will help you with any hayfever type allergies you may have :)

25. 10-20-2009 20:18

i don't like vegetables because it makes me puke.
could someone help me please?

26. 11-04-2009 11:21

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and should be the largest one you eat (dinner being the smallest) because you will use the big meal for energy throughout the day.

Beans are also a healthy source of carbs. The brown sugar makes oatmeal taste a lot better. Honey is a lot better for you so if you like that, put it on the oatmeal instead.

Fish is a good substitute for the eggs because it gives a lot of protein.

For other sources of fat, try olives, seeds, and coconuts if interested.
