Fun with Pull-Ups!

Warm-Up:

3 rounds:

25 Push-Ups

25 Sit-Ups

25 Squats

Samson Stretch x 5 each side 

Workout:

With a constantly running clock, perform 1 pull-up the first minute, 2 the second minute, 3 the third, and so on until you cannot perform the required number of pull-ups for the minute that you are on. If you come up short of 10 minutes, start back at one pull-up the minute following your failed set (so if you made it to only 4 pull-ups in the 5th minute, you'll do 1 on the sixth minute, 2 on the seventh, etc. until you reach your second failed set). You can break up the reps into as many sets as needed per minute.

Started out feeling very strong ... so I was surprised when I only made 5 in my 6th minute (5/7) and then started back at 1.

I'm rather surprised...I did the crossfit WOD, which was max-effort thrusters. Then, I did a max-set of kipping pull-ups for Eugene's Birthday Pull-Up Challenge:

I hadn't been training specifically for it (being that I got horrible elbow tendonitis about a month ago) but I still upped my max from a month ago by 6 to get 31. 
 
I almost wrote this workout off, thinking I'd do terrible. My last effort at this was 14 whole sets, then 12 or so on my 15th set. This time I got 15 whole sets and 11 on my 16th set for a total of 131 pull-ups in 16:00 
 
Needless to say I'm surprised...and to think I almost skipped working out altogether! :D

back from thanksgiving [man, i ate at least 4 thanksgiving dinners :p] did my own hotel-room workouts each night though, working mostly with static holds and anything that i could do in the small confines :p 
 
for this workout I got up to 7 pullups [with the last two having a bit of a kick or two :p] and then went back to 1.

yeah yeah got to like 10 on my 18th set and a vein on my left bicep moved around all freaky like for like five minutes and didnt go dwn fo like half an hour after i was done. twas awesome.
